West Virginia High School Basketball - Greenbrier East overwhelms Independence

The Greenbrier East Spartans basketball team scored 82 points and limited the host Independence Patriots to 44 in the Spartans non-league triumph on Tuesday.
The Spartans now have a 5-4 record. They play next when they travel to Spring Mills for a non-league game on Friday, January 31. Greenbrier East will confront a Cardinals team coming off a 78-46 league win over Jefferson (Shenandoah Junction, WV). The Cardinals record now stands at 11-0.
With the loss, Independence falls to 3-7 on the campaign. The Patriots host Liberty (Glen Daniel, WV) to confront the Raiders in a non-league game on Saturday, February 1. The Raiders go into the game with a record of 3-6. Liberty lost 53-49 in their recent league game against WestSide (Clear Fork, WV)
