The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Thurston Eagles (Redford, MI) and the visiting Melvindale Cardinals (Melvindale, MI), observed Thurston's basketball team overwhelm Melvindale by a margin of 60-29.

The Eagles (11-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Romulus (Romulus, MI). The Eagles come into the Western Wayne challenge with a 5-9 record. In their last challenge, Romulus was trounced by Crestwood (Dearborn Heights, MI), 53-40, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Cardinals battle the Annapolis Cougars (Dearborn Heights, MI) in a Western Wayne challenge, on Friday, January 31. Melvindale will attempt to better on its 10-5 season record.
