Texas High School Basketball - Marlin triumphant over Axtell

The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Marlin Bulldogs (Marlin, TX) and the visiting Axtell Longhorns (Axtell, TX), observed Marlin's basketball team overwhelm Axtell by a margin of 52-9.

The Bulldogs (14-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Chilton (Chilton, TX). The Pirates come into the 2A Region III District 17 challenge with a 11-13 record. In their last challenge, Chilton trounced Bruceville-Eddy (Eddy, TX), 49-32, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Longhorns battle the Riesel Indians (Riesel, TX) in a 2A Region III District 17 challenge, on Friday, January 31. Axtell will attempt to better on its 13-13 season record. The Indians come into the challenge with a 17-4 record after their 31-30 league win over Marlin (Marlin, TX).
