The Gwynedd Mercy Academy Monarchs basketball team scored 58 points and limited the visiting Villa Maria Academy Hurricanes to 53 in the Monarchs league triumph on Tuesday.

The Monarchs now possess a 14-2 record. They play next when they travel to Mt. St. Joseph Academy for a Catholic Academies game on Thursday, January 30. Gwynedd Mercy Academy will confront a Magic team coming off a 42-36 league win over Sacred Heart Academy (Bryn Mawr, PA). The Magic record now stands at 9-10.

With the loss, Villa Maria Academy falls to 10-10 on the campaign. The Hurricanes travel to Pennridge (Perkasie, PA) to confront the Rams in a non-league game on Thursday, January 30. The Rams go into the game with a record of 11-5. Pennridge lost 50-33 in their recent league game against North Penn (Lansdale, PA)
