In Tuesday's league contest, the visiting Gwynedd Mercy Academy Monarchs basketball team scored a good 35-23 triumph over the Villa Maria Academy Hurricanes.

The Monarchs (8-1) will now prepare for their contest against Mt. St. Joseph Academy (Flourtown, PA). The Magic go into the Catholic Academies contest with a 5-6 record. In their last contest, Mt. St. Joseph Academy topped Villa Maria Academy (Malvern, PA), 45-42, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Hurricanes battle the Merion Mercy Academy Golden Bears (Merion Station, PA) in a Catholic Academies contest, on Thursday, January 9. Villa Maria Academy will attempt to better on its 6-7 season record. The Golden Bears go into the contest with a 5-5 record after their 38-20 league loss to Villa Joseph Marie (Holland, PA).
