The Ariton Purple Cats (Ariton, AL) basketball nipped the host Barbour County Jaguars (Clayton, AL), 57-50 in Monday's league test.

The Purple Cats (16-6) will now prepare for their test against Providence Christian (Dothan, AL). The Eagles go into the non-league test with a 19-5 record. In their last test, Providence Christian got by Wicksburg (Newton, AL), 75-43, in a non-league test.

The Jaguars now own a 3-20 record. They play next when they host Pike County for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 30. Barbour County will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 62-47 non-league win over Cottonwood (Cottonwood, AL). The Bulldogs record now stands at 9-6.
