The Ariton Purple Cats basketball team scored 60 points and restricted the visiting Barbour County Jaguars to 44 in the Purple Cats league victory on Thursday.

The Purple Cats now sport a 9-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Elba for a non-league contest on Friday, January 5. Ariton will battle a Tigers team coming off a 58-54 league win over Houston County (Columbia, AL). The Tigers record now stands at 8-6.

The Jaguars (1-13) will now prepare for their contest against Bullock County (Union Springs, AL). The Hornets come into the non-league contest with a 7-8 record. In their last contest, Bullock County dropped by Booker T. Washington (Tuskegee, AL), 56-42, in a league contest.
