Pine Grove Panthers (Ripley, MS) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Falkner Eagles (Falkner, MS), 47-34 in a league bout.

With the victory, Pine Grove upgrades its record to 12-8 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Ashland (Ashland, MS) to play the Blue Devils in a 1A Region 2 bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Blue Devils come into the bout with a record of 6-11.

Next up, the Eagles play the Byers Lions (Holly Springs, MS) in a 1A Region 2 bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Falkner will attempt to upgrade on its 8-14 season record. The Lions come into the bout with a 18-4 record after their 46-38 league win over Jumpertown (Booneville, MS).
