Ashland Blue Devils (Ashland, MS) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Strayhorn Mustangs (Sarah, MS), 53-11 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Ashland upgrades its record to 7-12 on the season. The Blue Devils host Pine Grove (Ripley, MS) to play the Panthers in a 1A Region 2 bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 10-9.

Next up, the Mustangs play the Blue Mountain Cougars (Blue Mountain, MS) in a 1A Region 3 bout, on Thursday, February 1. Strayhorn will attempt to upgrade on its 1-12 season record. The Cougars go into the bout with a 20-1 record after their 50-11 league win over Coffeeville (Coffeeville, MS).
