North Carolina High School Basketball - Weldon triumphant over Rocky Mount Prep

The crowd at Wednesday's league challenge between the Weldon Chargers (Weldon, NC) and the visiting Rocky Mount Prep Jaguars (Rocky Mount, NC), observed Weldon's basketball team overwhelm Rocky Mount Prep by a score of 56-27.

The Chargers (6-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Northampton County (Gaston, NC). The Jaguars come into the 1A Tar Roanoke challenge with a 6-9 record. In their last challenge, Northampton County trounced KIPP Pride (Gaston, NC), 61-7, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Jaguars encounter the North Edgecombe Warriors (Tarboro, NC) in a 1A Tar Roanoke challenge, on Friday, January 31. Rocky Mount Prep will attempt to improve on its 5-9 season record.
