Annawan Braves (Annawan, IL) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Abingdon/Avon Tornadoes (Abingdon, IL), 40-37 in a league bout.
With the win, Annawan upgrades its record to 5-12 on the season. The Braves host Wethersfield (Kewanee, IL) to play the Flying Geese in a Lincoln Trail bout on Friday, January 6. The Flying Geese go into the bout with a record of 7-7. Wethersfield won 64-49 in their recent league bout against Galva (Galva, IL)
Next up, the Tornadoes play the Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] Spartans (Woodhull, IL) in a Lincoln Trail bout, on Friday, January 6. Abingdon/Avon will attempt to upgrade on its 0-13 season record. The Spartans go into the bout with a 4-12 record after their 58-50 league loss to ROWVA/Williamsfield (Oneida, IL).
