In Tuesday's league outing, the University Trojans (Waco, TX) basketball squad edged the host Belton Tigers (Belton, TX), by a count of 45-41.

The Trojans (9-12) will now prepare for their outing against Chaparral (Killeen, TX). The Bobcats go into the 5A Region III District 22 outing with a 16-7 record. In their last outing, Chaparral was tipped by Ellison (Killeen, TX), 86-42, in a league outing.

The Tigers now hold a 15-7 record. They play next when they travel to Waco for a 5A Region III District 22 bout on Friday, January 6. Belton will play a Lions squad coming off a 63-50 league loss to Lake Belton (Temple, TX). The Lions record now stands at 3-13.
