Burges Mustangs (El Paso, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Jefferson Silver Foxes (El Paso, TX), 58-19 in a league bout.

With the win, Burges upgrades its record to 8-9 on the season. The Mustangs host Canutillo (Canutillo, TX) to clash with the Eagles in a 5A Region I District 1 bout on Friday, January 6. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 10-9. Canutillo won 63-44 in their recent league bout against El Paso (El Paso, TX)

Next up, the Silver Foxes clash with the Chapin Huskies (El Paso, TX) in a 5A Region I District 1 bout, on Friday, January 6. Jefferson will attempt to upgrade on its 0-17 season record. The Huskies go into the bout with a 14-6 record after their 78-62 league win over Andress (El Paso, TX).
