The Monessen Greyhounds (Monessen, PA) basketball knocked off the visiting Geibel Catholic Gators (Connellsville, PA), 63-44 in Tuesday's league test.

The Greyhounds (8-1) will now prepare for their test against Jefferson-Morgan (Jefferson, PA). The Rockets go into the WPIAL 1A 2 test with a 7-4 record. In their last test, Jefferson-Morgan notched a victory over Mapletown (Greensboro, PA), 49-48, in a league test.

The Gators now own a 2-6 record. They play next when they host West Greene for a WPIAL 1A 2 test on Friday, January 6. Geibel Catholic will encounter a Pioneers squad coming off a 50-48 non-league loss to Carrick (Pittsburgh, PA). The Pioneers record now stands at 1-8.
