The Grandfalls-Royalty Cowboys held off the visiting Iraan Braves basketball team by a tally of 39-34 in Tuesday's league battle.
The Cowboys now possess a 1-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Buena Vista for a 1A Region II District 10 battle on Friday, January 6. Grandfalls-Royalty will confront a Longhorns team coming off a 1-0 league win over Marathon (Marathon, TX). The Longhorns record now stands at 11-6.
The Braves (3-6) will now prepare for their battle against Sanderson (Sanderson, TX). The Eagles come into the 1A Region II District 10 battle with a 9-4 record. In their last battle, Sanderson edged Comstock (Comstock, TX), 68-35, in a league battle.
