Texas High School Basketball - Needville can't hold off Wharton

The Wharton Tigers basketball team scored 33 points and restricted the visiting Needville Bluejays to 26 in the Tigers league victory on Tuesday.
The Tigers now sport a 14-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Royal for a 4A Region IV District 25 contest on Friday, January 6. Wharton will battle a Falcons team coming off a 87-33 league win over Needville (Needville, TX). The Falcons record now stands at 14-6.
The Bluejays (3-15) will now prepare for their contest against El Campo (El Campo, TX). The Ricebirds come into the 4A Region IV District 25 contest with a 7-10 record. In their last contest, El Campo was nudged by Navasota (Navasota, TX), 74-46, in a league contest.
