The Lehi Pioneers (Lehi, UT) basketball nipped the visiting Timpview Thunderbirds (Provo, UT), 34-30 in Tuesday's league test.
The Pioneers (10-0) will now prepare for their test against Jordan (Sandy, UT). The Beetdiggers go into the test with a 0-0 record.
The Thunderbirds now own a 0-1 record. They play next when they host Lehi for a match on Friday, January 20.
First Quarter
Lehi shut out Timpview in the first quarter while scoring 9 points. Goose Salsibury and Brynlee Cook hit three- point shots in the period.
Second Quarter
Lehi only made 2 baskets in the second quarter and ended with a total of just 6 points. Timpview scored 10 points and the score at the end of the first half is Lehi 15 and Timpview 10.
Third Quarter
The Pioneers made 3 three-point baskets in the third quarter as Mackinzie Jepson had 1 and Ellie Hill had 2. Lehi outscored Timpview 14 to 6 in the period and take a 29 to 16 lead into the final period.
Fourth Quarter
Timpview gave a scare to Lehi in the fourth quarter outscoring them 14 to 5. Lehi held on and won the game by the score of 34 to 30. Lehi made 5 three-points shots in the game. Ellie Hill led Lehi with 8 points.
