Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host West Wilkes Blackhawks (Millers Creek, NC), 46-37 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Ashe County upgrades its record to 6-4 on the campaign. The Huskies travel to Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC) to play the Cougars in a non-league bout on Friday, January 6. The Cougars come into the bout with a record of 7-2. Alexander Central won 48-33 in their recent non-league bout against North Gaston (Dallas, NC)

Next up, the Blackhawks play the North Surry Greyhounds (Mount Airy, NC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 6. West Wilkes will attempt to upgrade on its 5-7 season record. The Greyhounds come into the bout with a 9-2 record after their 59-45 non-league win over Mount Airy (Mount Airy, NC).
