The Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) basketball nipped the visiting West Wilkes Blackhawks (Millers Creek, NC), 48-46 in Friday's non-league test.

The Huskies (3-3) will now prepare for their test against Wilkes Central (Wilkesboro, NC). The Eagles go into the non-league test with a 0-4 record. In their last test, Wilkes Central was tipped by East Wilkes (Ronda, NC), 44-37, in a non-league test.

The Blackhawks now own a 3-1 record. They play next when they host Watauga for a non-league test on Monday, December 5. West Wilkes will encounter a Pioneers squad coming off a 63-32 non-league win over Avery County (Newland, NC). The Pioneers record now stands at 4-0.
