Galax Maroon Tide (Galax, VA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Grayson County Blue Devils (Independence, VA), 56-52 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Galax upgrades its record to 1-3 on the campaign. The Maroon Tide host Rural Retreat (Rural Retreat, VA) to play the Indians in a non-league bout on Wednesday, January 4. The Indians come into the bout with a record of 3-5. Rural Retreat won 35-19 in their recent non-league bout against Eastern Montgomery (Elliston, VA)

Next up, the Blue Devils play the Carroll County Cavaliers (Hillsville, VA) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, January 4. Grayson County will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record.
