With the victory, Laney upgrades its record to 9-2 on the campaign. The Buccaneers travel to South Brunswick (Southport, NC) to play the Cougars in a non-league challenge on Friday, January 6. The Cougars come into the challenge with a record of 4-4.

Next up, the Wildcats play the Topsail Pirates (Hampstead, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, January 5. New Hanover will attempt to upgrade on its 4-1 season record. The Pirates come into the challenge with a 4-6 record after their 39-32 non-league win over West Brunswick (Shallotte, NC).
