Moon Area Tigers (Moon Township, PA) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting South Fayette Lions (McDonald, PA), 54-52 in a league bout.

With the win, Moon Area upgrades its record to 7-2 on the season. The Tigers travel to North Hills (Pittsburgh, PA) to play the Indians in a WPIAL 5A 4 bout on Friday, January 5. The Indians go into the bout with a record of 4-5. North Hills lost 85-73 in their recent league bout against Mars (Mars, PA)

Next up, the Lions play the Chartiers Valley Colts (Bridgeville, PA) in a WPIAL 5A 4 bout, on Friday, January 5. South Fayette will attempt to upgrade on its 3-5 season record. The Colts go into the bout with a 6-5 record after their 66-51 league win over West Allegheny (Imperial, PA).
