South Columbus Stallions (Tabor City, NC) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Pender Patriots (Burgaw, NC), 46-38 in a league bout.

With the win, South Columbus upgrades its record to 6-8 on the season. The Stallions travel to East Columbus (Lake Waccamaw, NC) to clash with the Gators in a 1A/2A Waccamaw bout on Friday, January 5. The Gators go into the bout with a record of 3-6. East Columbus lost 53-38 in their recent league bout against East Bladen (Elizabethtown, NC)

Next up, the Patriots clash with the East Bladen Eagles (Elizabethtown, NC) in a 1A/2A Waccamaw bout, on Friday, January 5. Pender will attempt to upgrade on its 2-6 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 7-4 record after their 53-38 league win over East Columbus (Lake Waccamaw, NC).
