North Carolina High School Basketball - Pender can't hold off South Columbus

The South Columbus Stallions basketball team scored 53 points and held the host Pender Patriots to 50 in the Stallions league triumph on Tuesday.

The Stallions now sport a 10-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host East Columbus for a 1A/2A Waccamaw contest on Friday, February 2. South Columbus will battle a Gators team coming off a 61-54 non-league loss to Lakewood (Roseboro, NC). The Gators record now stands at 6-11.

The Patriots (3-12) will now prepare for their contest against East Bladen (Elizabethtown, NC). The Eagles enter the 1A/2A Waccamaw contest with a 8-9 record. In their last contest, East Bladen was nudged by West Columbus (Cerro Gordo, NC), 47-46, in a league contest.
