Virginia High School Basketball - Alleghany knocked off by Carroll County

The Carroll County Cavaliers basketball team scored 50 points and held the host Alleghany Cougars to 32 in the Cavaliers league triumph on Wednesday.

The Cavaliers now sport a 8-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host The Covenant for a non-league contest on Thursday, January 4. Carroll County will battle a Eagles team coming off a 43-28 non-league win over Godwin (Richmond, VA). The Eagles record now stands at 6-3.

The Cougars (7-3) will now prepare for their contest against James River (Buchanan, VA). The Knights enter the Three Rivers contest with a 5-6 record. In their last contest, James River was defeated by Floyd County (Floyd, VA), 52-44, in a league contest.
