In Wednesday's league outing, the Leland Cubs (Leland, MS) basketball squad edged the visiting West Bolivar Eagles (Rosedale, MS), by a margin of 25-19.

The Cubs (2-13) will now prepare for their outing against West Tallahatchie (Webb, MS). The Choctaws go into the 1A Region 5 outing with a 5-7 record. In their last outing, West Tallahatchie was tipped by South Delta (Rolling Fork, MS), 42-11, in a league outing.

The Eagles now own a 0-11 record. They play next when they travel to Shaw for a 1A Region 5 bout on Friday, January 5. West Bolivar will play a Warriors squad coming off a 57-49 league win over Simmons (Hollandale, MS). The Warriors record now stands at 8-7.
