In Friday's league contest, the visiting Alburnett Pirates basketball team scored a big 74-47 triumph over the East Buchanan Buccaneers.
The Pirates (6-2) will now prepare for their contest against Edgewood-Colesburg (Edgewood, IA). The Vikings go into the Tri-Rivers contest with a 4-5 record. In their last contest, Edgewood-Colesburg was trounced by Springville (Springville, IA), 82-47, in a league contest.
In their next game, the Buccaneers battle the Don Bosco Dons (Gilbertville, IA) in a non-league contest, on Monday, January 6. East Buchanan will attempt to better on its 0-7 season record. The Dons go into the contest with a 5-2 record after their 58-46 league win over Janesville (Janesville, IA).
