The Grace Community Cougars basketball squad (Tyler, TX), was crushed 82-60 in Friday's league battle with the visiting Brentwood Christian Bears (Austin, TX)

With the victory, Brentwood Christian advances its record to 18-8 on the year. The Bears host Brook Hill (Bullard, TX) to meet the Guard in a TAPPS 5A District 2 battle on Friday, January 10. The Guard enter the battle with a record of 19-3.

The Cougars now own a 15-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Rusk for a non-league battle on Tuesday, January 7. Grace Community will meet a Eagles squad coming off a 49-43 non-league loss to Livingston (Livingston, TX). The Eagles record now stands at 12-6.
