The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Douglass Indians (Douglass, TX) and the host New Summerfield Hornets (New Summerfield, TX), observed Douglass's basketball team overwhelm New Summerfield by a margin of 75-19.

The Indians (6-15) will now prepare for their challenge against Cushing (Cushing, TX). The Bearkats come into the 2A Region III District 22 challenge with a 6-12 record. In their last challenge, Cushing was trounced by Mt. Enterprise (Mt. Enterprise, TX), 60-44, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Hornets battle the Alto Yellowjackets (Alto, TX) in a 2A Region III District 22 challenge, on Friday, January 10. New Summerfield will attempt to better on its 6-12 season record.
