The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the East Rowan Mustangs (Salisbury, NC) and the host South Rowan Raiders (China Grove, NC), observed East Rowan's basketball team edge South Rowan by a score of 60-53.

The Mustangs (1-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Lake Norman Charter (Huntersville, NC). The Knights come into the 3A South Piedmont challenge with a 2-8 record. In their last challenge, Lake Norman Charter was tipped by Central Cabarrus (Concord, NC), 80-77, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Raiders battle the Thomasville Bulldogs (Thomasville, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 7. South Rowan will attempt to improve on its 0-12 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 4-8 record after their 71-34 league win over South Davidson (Denton, NC).
