In Friday's league contest, the host Gautier Gators basketball team scored a big 53-31 triumph over the Vancleave Bulldogs.

The Gators (10-9) will now prepare for their contest against East Central (Moss Point, MS). The Hornets go into the 5A Region 4 contest with a 3-11 record. In their last contest, East Central was trounced by Laurel (Laurel, MS), 65-32, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Bulldogs confront the Stone Tomcats (Wiggins, MS) in a 5A Region 4 contest, on Tuesday, January 7. Vancleave will attempt to better on its 2-13 season record. The Tomcats go into the contest with a 7-7 record after their 56-49 league loss to Wayne County (Waynesboro, MS).
