In Friday's league contest, the host Hooks Hornets basketball team scored a big 62-24 win over the New Boston Lions.

The Hornets (12-11) will now prepare for their contest against Redwater (Redwater, TX). The Dragons come into the 3A Region II District 14 contest with a 10-12 record. In their last contest, Redwater was trounced by Queen City (Queen City, TX), 50-45, in a league contest.

Next up, the Lions face the Liberty-Eylau Leopards (Texarkana, TX) in a 3A Region II District 14 match, on Tuesday, January 7. New Boston will attempt to advance on its 6-7 season record. The Leopards enter the match with a 23-0 record after their 63-60 league win over Atlanta (Atlanta, TX).
