In Friday's non-league contest, the visiting La Pine Hawks basketball team scored a close 64-60 win over the South Umpqua Lancers.
The Hawks (4-8) will now prepare for their contest against Siuslaw (Florence, OR). The Vikings come into the non-league contest with a 7-4 record. In their last contest, Siuslaw edged Myrtle Point (Myrtle Point, OR), 58-38, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Lancers battle the Myrtle Point Bobcats (Myrtle Point, OR) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, January 4. South Umpqua will attempt to better on its 7-4 season record. The Bobcats come into the contest with a 3-7 record after their 43-30 non-league loss to Coquille (Coquille, OR).
