The Monroeville Eagles basketball team scored 72 points and limited the host South Central Trojans to 36 in the Eagles league triumph on Friday.

The Eagles now possess a 4-4 record. They play next when they host New London for a Firelands game on Saturday, January 4. Monroeville will play a Wildcats team coming off a 52-46 non-league loss to Seneca East (Attica, OH). The Wildcats record now stands at 0-7.

With the loss, South Central falls to 2-6 on the campaign. The Trojans host Mapleton (Ashland, OH) to play the Mounties in a Firelands game on Tuesday, January 7. The Mounties go into the game with a record of 8-2. Mapleton won 75-42 in their recent non-league game against Northwestern (West Salem, OH)
