The Dons now possess a 21-1 record. They play next when they travel to Amarillo for a 5A Region I District 3 bout on Tuesday, January 7. Palo Duro will play a Sandies team coming off a 59-41 league win over Lubbock-Cooper (Lubbock, TX). The Sandies record now stands at 20-5.

With the loss, Monterey falls to 9-15 on the campaign. The Plainsmen host Coronado (Lubbock, TX) to play the Mustangs in a 5A Region I District 3 bout on Tuesday, January 7. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 6-14. Coronado lost 76-37 in their recent league bout against Tascosa (Amarillo, TX)
