In Friday's league contest, the visiting Bowie Volunteers basketball team scored a good 53-37 triumph over the Martin Warriors.

The Volunteers (9-14) will now prepare for their battle against Arlington (Arlington, TX). The Colts enter the 6A Region I District 8 battle with a 13-10 record. In their last battle, Arlington knocked off Sam Houston (Arlington, TX), 43-22, in a league battle.

The Warriors now own a 8-14 record. They put it on the line next when they host Haltom for a 6A Region I District 8 battle on Tuesday, January 7. Martin will meet a Buffalos squad coming off a 47-12 league win over Grand Prairie (Grand Prairie, TX). The Buffalos record now stands at 8-13.
