The Newport Tigers basketball squad scored 58 points and held the host Monadnock Huskies to 50 in the Tigers league victory on Friday.
With the victory, Newport upgrades its record to 4-1 on the year. The Tigers host Hinsdale (Hinsdale, NH) to face the Pacers in a non-league match on Tuesday, January 7. The Pacers enter the match with a record of 4-1. Hinsdale won 29-11 in their recent league match against Epping (Epping, NH)
The Huskies now sport a 3-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Gilford for a Division III match on Monday, January 6. Monadnock will face a Golden Eagles squad coming off a 27-24 league win over Stevens (Claremont, NH). The Golden Eagles record now stands at 6-0.
