Villa Maria Academy Hurricanes (Malvern, PA) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Merion Mercy Academy Golden Bears (Merion Station, PA), 52-30 in a league bout.

With the win, Villa Maria Academy upgrades its record to 17-2 on the season. The Hurricanes host Gwynedd Mercy Academy (Gwynedd Valley, PA) to play the Monarchs in a Catholic Academies bout on Thursday, February 2. The Monarchs go into the bout with a record of 17-3. Gwynedd Mercy Academy won 46-23 in their recent league bout against Nazareth Academy (Philadelphia, PA)
