Smithfield Sentinels (Esmond, RI) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Prout Crusaders (Wakefield, RI), 42-26 in a league bout.

With the win, Smithfield upgrades its record to 11-5 on the season. The Sentinels travel to Mt. Pleasant (Providence, RI) to play the Kilties in a Division 2 bout on Wednesday, February 1. The Kilties go into the bout with a record of 0-13. Mt. Pleasant lost 64-40 in their recent league bout against East Greenwich (East Greenwich, RI)

Next up, the Crusaders play the Moses Brown Quakers (Providence, RI) in a Division 2 bout, on Wednesday, February 1. Prout will attempt to upgrade on its 3-10 season record. The Quakers go into the bout with a 15-0 record after their 82-10 league win over Woonsocket (Woonsocket, RI).
