The Hughesville Spartans basketball team scored 44 points and held the host Bloomsburg Panthers to 39 in the Spartans league triumph on Tuesday.
The Spartans now sport a 8-10 record. They put it on the line next when they host Mount Carmel for a Heartland III contest on Saturday, February 3. Hughesville will meet a RED TORNADOES team coming off a 56-53 non-league loss to Annville-Cleona (Annville, PA). The RED TORNADOES record now stands at 8-11.
The Panthers (4-13) will now prepare for their contest against Warrior Run (Turbotville, PA). The Defenders enter the Heartland III contest with a 9-7 record. In their last contest, Warrior Run nudged Hughesville (Hughesville, PA), 48-45, in a league contest.
