Velma-Alma Comets (Velma, OK) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Elmore City-Pernell Badgers (Elmore City, OK), 77-48 in a league bout.

With the win, Velma-Alma upgrades its record to 18-3 on the season. The Comets travel to Wilson (Wilson, OK) to play the Eagles in a Oilfield bout on Friday, February 2. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 17-4. Wilson won 63-50 in their recent league bout against Central (Marlow, OK)

Next up, the Badgers play the Springer Cardinals (Springer, OK) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, February 1. Elmore City-Pernell will attempt to upgrade on its 10-9 season record.
