Velma-Alma Comets (Velma, OK) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Elmore City-Pernell Badgers (Elmore City, OK), 66-45 in a league bout.

With the victory, Velma-Alma upgrades its record to 5-1 on the campaign. The Comets host Central (Marlow, OK) to play the Bronchos in a Oilfield bout on Tuesday, December 19. The Bronchos come into the bout with a record of 7-2. Central won 59-22 in their recent non-league bout against Rush Springs (Rush Springs, OK)

Next up, the Badgers play the Walters Blue Devils (Walters, OK) in a Oilfield bout, on Tuesday, January 2. Elmore City-Pernell will attempt to upgrade on its 6-4 season record. The Blue Devils come into the bout with a 4-3 record after their 54-17 league win over Ringling (Ringling, OK).
