The Mendocino Cardinals (Mendocino, CA) basketball nipped the host Round Valley Mustangs (Covelo, CA), 55-48 in Tuesday's league test.

The Cardinals (11-8) will now prepare for their test against Potter Valley (Potter Valley, CA). The Bearcats go into the North Central III test with a 0-12 record. In their last test, Potter Valley was tipped by Laytonville (Laytonville, CA), 50-40, in a league test.

The Mustangs now own a 11-8 record. They play next when they host Point Arena for a North Central III test on Friday, February 2. Round Valley will encounter a Pirates squad coming off a 87-25 league win over Anderson Valley (Boonville, CA). The Pirates record now stands at 15-5.
