Kentucky High School Basketball - Russell County tipped by Metcalfe County

The Metcalfe County Hornets basketball team scored 79 points and held the host Russell County Lakers to 78 in the Hornets league triumph on Tuesday.
The Hornets now sport a 8-11 record. They put it on the line next when they host Cumberland County for a District 16 contest on Friday, February 2. Metcalfe County will meet a Panthers team coming off a 51-47 non-league win over Allen County-Scottsville (Scottsville, KY). The Panthers record now stands at 11-9.
The Lakers (10-10) will now prepare for their contest against Monroe County (Tompkinsville, KY). The Falcons enter the District 16 contest with a 12-9 record. In their last challenge, Monroe County was edged by Clinton County (Albany, KY), 75-63, in a league challenge.
