Ashland Blue Devils (Ashland, MS) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Pine Grove Panthers (Ripley, MS), 52-45 in a league bout.

With the win, Ashland upgrades its record to 8-12 on the season. The Blue Devils host Byers (Holly Springs, MS) to play the Lions in a 1A Region 2 bout on Thursday, February 1. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 4-16. Byers lost 48-19 in their recent league bout against Falkner (Falkner, MS)

Next up, the Panthers play the Jumpertown Cardinals (Booneville, MS) in a 1A Region 2 bout, on Friday, February 2. Pine Grove will attempt to upgrade on its 10-10 season record.
