The Ashland Blue Devils (Ashland, MS) basketball nipped the host Pine Grove Panthers (Ripley, MS), 60-58 in Friday's league test.

The Blue Devils (4-7) will now prepare for their test against Walnut (Walnut, MS). The Wildcats go into the non-league test with a 7-4 record. In their last test, Walnut got by Mantachie (Mantachie, MS), 64-52, in a non-league test.

The Panthers now own a 6-5 record. They play next when they travel to Alcorn Central for a non-league test on Wednesday, December 27. Pine Grove will encounter a Bears squad coming off a 52-33 non-league win over Biggersville (Corinth, MS). The Bears record now stands at 10-2.
