Sumter County Panthers (Americus, GA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Berrien Rebels (Nashville, GA), 66-36 in a league bout.

With the victory, Sumter County upgrades its record to 13-7 on the campaign. The Panthers host Macon County (Montezuma, GA) to face the Bulldogs in a non-league game on Friday, February 2. The Bulldogs enter the game with a record of 17-6. Macon County won 58-28 in their recent league game against Central (Talbotton, GA)

With the defeat, Berrien moves to 7-13 on the year. The Rebels travel to Fitzgerald (Fitzgerald, GA) to face the Purple Hurricane in a AA Region 1 game on Friday, February 2. The Purple Hurricane enter the game with a record of 11-9. Fitzgerald lost 49-47 in their recent non-league game against Wilcox County (Rochelle, GA)
