George West Longhorns (George West, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Taft Greyhounds (Taft, TX), 57-30 in a league bout.

With the win, George West upgrades its record to 21-10 on the season. The Longhorns travel to Mathis (Mathis, TX) to clash with the Pirates in a 3A Region IV District 29 bout on Friday, February 2. The Pirates go into the bout with a record of 3-23. Mathis won 49-21 in their recent league bout against Odem (Odem, TX)

Next up, the Greyhounds clash with the Aransas Pass Panthers (Aransas Pass, TX) in a 3A Region IV District 29 bout, on Friday, February 2. Taft will attempt to upgrade on its 18-12 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 8-11 record after their 38-35 league loss to Goliad (Goliad, TX).
