Powell County Pirates (Stanton, KY) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Lee County Bobcats (Beattyville, KY), 41-34 in a league bout.

With the win, Powell County upgrades its record to 11-13 on the season. The Pirates travel to Hazard (Hazard, KY) to play the Bulldogs / Lady Bulldogs in a non-league bout on Saturday, February 3. The Bulldogs / Lady Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 11-11.

Next up, the Bobcats play the Jackson City Tigers (Jackson, KY) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, February 1. Lee County will attempt to upgrade on its 3-11 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 2-16 record after their 48-39 non-league loss to Sayre (Lexington, KY).
