The Big Bay de Noc Black Bears (Cooks, MI) basketball edged the visiting Superior Central Cougars (Eben Junction, MI), 29-25 in Thursday's non-league bout.

The Black Bears now possess a 5-8 record. They play next when they travel to Maplewood Baptist Academy for a Northern Lights bout on Monday, February 3.

With the loss, Superior Central falls to 5-10 on the campaign. The Cougars host Rapid River (Rapid River, MI) to play the Rockets in a Skyline bout on Tuesday, February 4. The Rockets go into the bout with a record of 4-12. Rapid River won 47-39 in their recent league bout against Mid Peninsula (Rock, MI)
